Part-Time Maintenance Technician Job Announcement
Koti Property Services is a property maintenance company focused on providing service to property management companies and landlords with single family rental units in the District of Columbia. We provide a high level of service to our clients in order to create value in the owner’s investment and comfort for the residents. We are looking for a part-time Maintenance Technician to join our team.
We would like someone to be able to carry out work with limited supervision on site at our client’s rental homes and condos. The Maintenance Technician must be a problem solver with high standards of workmanship and excellent customer service skills.
Maintenance Technician Essential Functions include:
- Responding promptly to new work orders.
- Ensuring work is completed quickly, efficiently and professionally.
- Effective communications with tenants, vendors and Koti management at all times.
- Performing basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks including:
- Light electrical (repairing or replacing fixtures, switches, and outlets)
- Light plumbing (replacing valves, faucets, and drains, clearing clogged drains)
- Carpentry and sheetrock repair – including repairing or replacing doors and windows, plastering damaged sheetrock, repairing cabinets, trim and other woodwork.
- Painting, ranging from touch ups and repairs to full interior painting to prepare for new tenants.
- Minor appliance repairs (stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.)
- Coordinate with other vendors to complete more extensive repairs, as needed
- Performs other duties under supervisor's direction as needed.
- Incorporates safety protocols while performing all job duties.
- Keeps work area clean and behaves professionally while performing all duties on site.
Maintenance Technician Key Requirements
- Comfortable with mobile technology, apps, adding photos, etc.
- Average to good written communication skills
- At least 5 years of experience as a maintenance person or maintenance technician
- Possesses a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (truck or van)
- Possesses most tools and equipment to perform necessary work.
- Ability to work legally in the US
The Maintenance Technician position will be hourly with expected hours starting at 20 – 30 hours weekly, increasing to 40 hours weekly as the company grows. Compensation will be $28 - $35 an hour commensurate with experience. We would like someone to be able to start immediately and work 4 hours shifts of either 2 PM - 6 PM or 3 PM - 7 PM on weekdays. Some Saturday work is expected for emergency work.
