About the Job: This position is responsible for applying knowledge of engineering principles to design, develop and tests all aspects of electrical components and systems. Will use computer-assisted engineering design software and equipment to perform assignments. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. May be involved with activities of fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of electrical or electromechanical products and systems. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision and follows instructions and pre-established guidelines as defined by their supervisor.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done thinking “Safety First”.
- Design, develop, build, and test high quality PCBAs and electronic systems (schematic and layout)
- Architect electrical systems, from system-level to circuit-level, given a set or written requirements
- Perform board bring-up with initial hardware testing
- Design and develop around MCUs and ARM microcontrollers
- Design and develop around instrumentation peripherals
- Conduct fabrication and testing of prototype systems, and documents design modifications as required.
- Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams to design and develop new boards and/or products
- Use engineering methodology and procedures to apply principles to design and development project per company SOP.
- For all on -site positions, must show up to work to perform job duties.

- Able to lift up to 40 pounds and 41+ pounds as a two-person lift.

Minimum Requirements, Skills and Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 10 years of experience in a related field; or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of system level mixed-signal architecture. Experience architecting multi-board systems.
- Proven track record of turning written requirements into finished designs.
- Proven experience with the OrCAD software suite for schematic capture, layout, and simulation.
- Strong knowledge of layout requirements for signal integrity of high-speed digital signals.
- Strong knowledge of layout requirements for power delivery and switching buck and boost regulators.
- Strong knowledge of analog signal processing (filtering and amplification circuit design).
- Outstanding problem-solving resolution and attention to detail, willing to lead by example
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding work ethic, organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work both independently and on a multidisciplinary engineering team
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering and/or 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience with writing release-quality embedded software (firmware) in C/C++.
- Experience with EMI/EMC regulatory approval requirements for release to global markets.
- Experience using and maintaining OrCAD symbol and footprint part libraries with revision control.
- Experience with integrating embedded microcontrollers (ARM, STM32, PIC24, etc.)
- Proven track record working in the industrial/laboratory instrumentation industry
- Proven track record of releasing designs to production
- Some project management experience
