Position Overview:
This position will lead and direct the routine functions of Human Resources including hiring process, administering pay/position changes, benefits administration, performance conversations and enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Functions - The individual in this role must be able to perform the essential functions of the role, and meet the following occupational demands, with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating policies, programs, and practices ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Entering new hires into the timekeeping and payroll systems.
- Updating & maintaining current employees’ files as needed. Preparing the necessary paperwork to document any title or pay changes. Submitting any title or report to changes to APi Support ticket.
- Creating termination documents for nonunion employees, entering termination ticket for APi Support and submitting PTO payout to payroll.
- Managing the PTO program. Making necessary adjustments as PTO is used and entering quarterly accruals.
- Coordinating Incentive Safety Program.
- Complete and submit unemployment reports to various state agencies.
- Maintains the work structure by updating the org chart and reviewing and creating job descriptions.
- Assist management with compensation structure by completing periodic compensation analysis to set compensation ranges for current and open positions.
- Coordinate and conduct the orientation process for new nonunion employees.
- Assist the training department with union onboarding and miscellaneous tasks.
- Lead the full cycle talent acquisition such as executing recruiting, posting jobs, collecting applications, interviewing, creating offer letters, pre-employment testing or verifications and communicating with the applicants.
- Work with APi Group in administering the benefits programs. Updating benefit changes and pay adjustments in the payroll system. Assist team members and processing necessary new hire, change and termination forms.
- Managing the DOT & Non-Dot drug testing procedures.
- Managing employee leaves such as FMLA and other leave requests and ensure compliance with employment laws and other regulations.
- Assist management with performance conversations, documentation, and discipline procedures.
- Manage the Performance Review process.
- Participating in monthly HR meetings with APi Group discussing and implementing employment law changes and any best practice directives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years’ experience or 5+ years of human resources experience.
- Ability to work with a high level of integrity, using discretion with sensitive and/or confidential information.
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and knowledge in payroll systems/management.
- Willing and able to learn new and different software and internet-based platforms.
- Preferred: professional certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) are desirable.
