Role:
Manages the overall Data Center operations that include networks, servers/PCs, databases, VOIP system, Information Security and DRP functions of the organization are effectively managed. In addition, this position will also be responsible identifying consolidation opportunities by evaluating enterprise infrastructure portfolio and proposing consolidation of systems with redundant capabilities or migrating to newer and efficient technologies.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works as a strategic partner with the CEO and the leadership team to provide vision and leadership for business initiatives including, but not limited to development, revision, and implementation of objectives, goals, policies, products, procedures, and programs of the IT and Data Security department. Manages, updates, communicates, and ensures compliance with the disaster recovery plan for the CU. Develops, updates, maintains, and regulates an all-inclusive computer security and loss prevention program for the CU.
- Monitors the marketplace for changes in the information technology and data security segments of the industry, research, tracks, and analyzes IT activities and results. Logically directs, controls, develops, and implements processes and procedures to maximize effectiveness of CCF's IT and data security functions in accordance with company goals and objectives. Develops and implements strategies and tactics to ensure IT and data security goals success that will enhance and complement the goals and objectives of the Strategic Plan.
- Leads the IT team, who are responsible for strategic and tactical projects (infrastructure, end-user support and collaboration applications), to maximize productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the department. This includes hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, development, training, assuring compliance with IT, data security, and regulatory requirements and CCF's Mission, Vision, Goals, and Service Promises. Appraises performance and provides recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate.
- Ensures IT team executes defined activities to achieve goals that are in line with overall credit union objectives, mission, vision, service promises, and strategic plans. Ensures that CCF is following all IT and data security regulations; develops procedural changes as compliance requires or new programs demand.
- Directs the operations of computer systems for timely, accurate processing. Manages e-commerce delivery operations. Evaluates and/or designs new data processing applications. Manages all data dictionaries to ensure efficiency and standardization within the development of new software systems.
- Manages and negotiates contracts for the purchase, maintenance, and support of internal data processing systems and the provision of external data processing systems in accordance with the overall budget and strategic plan of the CU. Monitors and compares prices with vendors to ensure best cost and reliable service of computer equipment. Ensures that all third-party relationships meet due diligence requirements.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Experience:
The Vice President of Information Technology position requires a proven track record of leadership in technology management, including excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Must also have 5 to 10 years of increasing responsibility in technology management. Prefer a minimum of 5 years Credit Union experience.
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
Interpersonal Skills:
Must work effectively with the firm's senior IT team to help plan and coordinate both short and long-term systems strategy and implementation. Also acts as a liaison between nontechnical business units and IT.
Other Skills:
Experience with Symitar/ Jack Henry. Extensive understanding of IT infrastructure technologies including OS, Data Storage, Servers, Networks, Telephony, Web, Cloud, Technical Architecture and Performance Optimization techniques planning and tactical implementation are important attributes as well.
