We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Automotive Plant Manager to lead and oversee operations at our facility west of Ann Arbor, MI. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and the achievement of company goals. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to plant staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring that production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets are met.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Production and Quality Control:
- Manage and coordinate production activities to optimize resource utilization and meet production goals.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and implement quality control processes to maintain product excellence.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the plant budget, ensuring cost control and financial performance.
- Analyze financial reports and data to make informed business decisions and drive profitability.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
Safety and Compliance:
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
Human Resources and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop plant staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Manage staffing levels, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Encourage employee engagement and retention through effective communication and recognition programs.
Continuous Improvement:
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Drive innovation and process improvements to achieve operational excellence and competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance overall plant performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a plant management role.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with a proven track record of successfully leading large teams.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, quality control, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
