Carpenter job description
The Carpenter position carries many hats within the C365 crew team. This position is responsible for on-site interaction with our clients, our Pm department and essential to keeping jobs on schedule and completed correctly.
Work Hours:
The work schedule for this position will be from 7am until 5:00 pm daily. There will be days that will require you to work earlier and later based on work load. We will do our best to keep the work day consistent and within the above hours. There may also be occasional weekend work needed. We will provide as much notice as possible. This is generally related to storms and tarping roofs off or removing ice dams in winter.
Jobsite:
a. Understand the scope of work for each jobsite and perform carpentry duties to complete the project. Work hand in hand with the project manager & customer to make sure job will run as efficiently as possible.
b. Able to use technology and update job status on company CRM.
c. Work with the project manager and give him updates to where the project is at. Each
d. All Jobs need to be handled as in a 5-star manner in both professionalism and care.
e. We will look for your leadership in maintaining a safe jobsite. You will be required to be OSHA 10 safety certified. (We will help you get certified if not currently.)
f. All jobsites (inside & outside) will be kept in a professional manner. (Clean up all loose materials and stack. Pick up debris, put tools away if appropriate.) Most of our jobs are in/around homes and we want the work environment as safe as possible for our workers and for the clients.
g. Read and understand the 2021 IRC code book. C365 has copies available for review. This will allow us to build and construct our project and meet/exceed code.
Van/truck & Trailer:
a. Keep van organized at all times. Make sure all tools are put into allocated locations in van so you will notice if tools are missing before leaving the jobsite.
b. Your van will have a full set of tools allocated to it and it will be your responsibility to make sure they are accounted for. (Note- all tools will have a # assigned to them and they will be tracked for record keeping.) If a tool is needs repair, lost or broken you will need to identify and track the item and its replacement/repair with the project manager.
c. There will be check out sheets for all bulk items in shop (materials we stock in the shop that are job billable items) you will be required to check out the materials and track for billing.
d. New tools/equipment that you would like to see us purchase will need to be filled out on the tool request form. This will be reviewed by the project manager and sent to management for approval.
e. Dot and or Health card will be required. We will help th right candidate attain this if not currently in possession.
f. The maintenance of the van is your responsibility.
a. Daily clean out.
b. Weekly wash or sooner if needed.
c. Tools always put in allocated location for travel safety.
d. Maintenance logs- daily
e. Oil change log & care
f. All repairs need a bid from shop and Managers approval for repairs to be completed.
Skills desired:
a. Ok with heights.
b. Be able to lift 50 lbs.
c. General knowledge of the following:
a. Roofing- asphalt, steel and rubber is a plus.
b. All types of siding and wraps
c. Window/door installation including finish carpentry.
d. Framing, rough carpentry
e. Decks, railings and footings
Miscellaneous:
a. All receipts will need to be turned in daily. This will include all receipts from account locations and purchases made that will require Reimbursement. All receipts will need a itemized list of items, date, and job name on them.
b. All items brought back to the shop will need to be put in their proper location.
c. All large tools or tools that the vans will not have in them will have a check out sheet. The tool will need to be returned prior to another crew taking it out.
d. The crew will be responsible for keeping the shop clean and orderly. All materials should be placed in their correct location and stacked.
e. (Assuming you are leading a crew) The Foreman will be responsible for looking over the timecards of the carpenters under him or the carpenters on his jobsite (even if another foreman in there.) The time cards will be turned in daily and reviewed by the project manager.
f. Be able to lift 50lbs and ok with heights/roofs.
