This is a full-time, exempt, on-site role with compensation ranging from $55,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.

Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.
What you’ll do
- Provide case management services in collaboration with the Vogel team, including center Director, teachers, Manager of School-Age Programs, Nurse, Lead Mental Health Therapist, and Assistant Director of ECE Developmental and Behavioral Services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with staff and families.
- Assist in enrolling children by securing necessary documentation and orienting families to the center's services and requirements.
- Develop and implement plans with families to address educational needs and goals for their children.
- Coordinate services, make referrals, provide community resources, and engage in advocacy to achieve goals.
- Provide direct services such as parent training and support, and monitor progress through regular family meetings.
- Collaborate with Case Managers to support family goal achievement.
- Facilitate the transition of children to the main center location and ensure families secure other childcare services and community after school programs upon leaving Vogel.
- Document all family interactions in the agency database (COPA) within 24 hours.
- Obtain necessary consents for case coordination, referrals, and communications.
- Provide supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health referrals as needed.
- Complete clinical documentation promptly and maintain client confidentiality according to relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Refer families to additional mental health professionals when appropriate.
What will make you successful in this role (skills)
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, with licensure or license-eligibility at the LMSW level.
- Two years of supervised work experience in direct services related to mental health, maternal/child health, child welfare, or related fields.
- Familiarity with childhood trauma dynamics and its impact on behavior and social/emotional development.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to empathize, understand, and engage with families.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, resourceful, self-initiating, and able to follow through on tasks.
- Capacity to work with diverse populations in a culturally competent manner.
- Ability to work independently with accountability.
- Proficiency in utilizing supervision and management appropriately.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and its impact on homeless families.
