Job Description Summary
The Manager, Brand Enhancement & Protection will manage Brand Use cases using brand best practices, strategic insights and established procedures. This is a role focused on evaluation of BCBSA and BCBS Plan Branded initiatives that support and protect the Brands and drive business. This position also manages/enhances communications about the proper use of the BCBS brands via platforms and tools such as the Brand Portal on BlueWeb and the Brand Center.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Association & Plan Brand Use – Evaluate all Plan and internal derivative requests, considering potential for confusion and appropriate Brand Use. Oversee co-brand requests and lead communication of activity to senior leadership. Manage naming requests for BCBSA programs and initiatives. Work with cross-functional team to evaluate novel Brand Use. Utilizing deep understanding of the purpose and workflow, leads process improvement for easy interactions and improved turnaround times.
Education and Facilitation – Manage Brand Center including content, supporting text, reporting and outside agency relationship. Create and deliver training and educational presentations and materials
Brand Protection – Manage process for determination of primary brands of National Competitors. Key contributor to evaluation of novel uses of the Brands. Lead cross-functional teams to provide feedback and solutions for non compliant Brand requests.
Business Discovery – Understand industry trends, Association and Plan business needs. Collect and synthesize the data and research that the Association and Plans have done to help inform evolution of Brand strategy and Regulations
Required Education, Certifications and Experience
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years of related experience with a minimum of 3 years in brand strategy
Experience leading multiple workstreams simultaneously
Hands-on experience using secondary research, evaluating and enhancing communications tools and platforms, maximizing efficiencies and streamlining processes.
A successful background in analytical and strategic thinking, as well as relationship building.
