Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and assisting medical staff in various healthcare settings.
Duties:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs accurately
- Perform basic nursing procedures including wound care, catheter care, and phlebotomy
- Support patients in specialized areas such as pediatrics, memory care, hospice care, and emergency medicine
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and electronic health record systems like Cerner
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Assist in patient education and provide emotional support to patients and their families
Requirements:
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or relevant healthcare certification
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic patient care procedures
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication skills and empathy towards patients
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
