GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Quality Assurance Coordinator assists with aspects of the quality program at MPLN, Inc. to ensure quality activities meet or exceed the needs and expectations of internal customers, federal/state laws and regulations and accreditation standards. The Quality Assurance Coordinator reports to the Quality Assurance Manager to support all functional managers and directors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains Quality Action Reports.
- Manages proficiency testing documentation.
- Organizes and follows up on internal reporting documentation.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of and ensures compliance with regulatory agency requirements (e.g. CAP LAP, ISO 15189).
- Performs and reports on internal quality system audits, assessments or inspections.
- Identifies and investigates non-conforming events, performs causal analysis, and suggests appropriate corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
- Assesses effectiveness of quality initiatives.
- Educates and trains the leadership, staff and business associates about the quality improvement plan, and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the quality improvement program.
- Assists in the collection of data for quality monitoring.
- Understands, anticipates, and prioritizes customer needs to allocate effectively limited resources.
- Helps ensure a safe environment for all staff.
- Promotes and maintains positive relationships with all contacts.
- Facilitates resolution of conflicts and problems as appropriate.
- Promotes effective interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships.
- Adopts a team approach and acts as a role model in teamwork.
- Maintains professional demeanor when serving internal customers.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and cooperates with all contacts.
- Demonstrates patience and tact when working with customers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Experience in a regulated technical or clinical laboratory environment including exposure to quality administration.
- Experience in clinical and/or clinical trial settings preferred.
- Knowledge of statistics, data collection, analysis, and data presentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good laboratory practice experience.
EDUCATION, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 1 years’ experience in a regulated technical or clinical laboratory environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL / WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work in well-lighted and ventilated work areas.

- Slight potential for chemical exposure.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances and/or hazardous materials.

- Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects.
- Communication skills using the spoken and written word.
- Requires eye/hand coordination.
- Occasional stress when dealing with patients, clients and multiple demands.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
