Quick Summary
The IT Project Manager is a global position in our Shared Services IT Team that will be responsible for leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives including ERP system upgrades and business transformation. The ERP transformation will help to shape Kimball Electronics for the future. The person in the role will be expected to work with global project teams to ensure successful completion in accordance with defined standards. To be successful, the candidate must be self-motivated, possess strong leadership competencies, communication skills, time/project management skills, effectively lead change, maintain a positive attitude, and quickly demonstrate results to gain trust and build followership. This is an individual contributor role managing matrixed teams and requires leadership and influencing skills. The IT Project Manager role is within our KESS IT team at Kimball Electronics, Inc. (KEI) and reports to our Director of IT Business Partnerships & PMO. This position is based in the company headquarters in Jasper, Indiana with options for remote or hybrid work.
Key Performance Objectives
- Short Term: (0 to 3 months)
- Learn KEI Culture, people, and processes from a managerial perspective.
- Build business relationships with KESS and site resources.
- Become an active member of the KESS IT application team, and general familiarity with processes, procedures, standards including project management best practices.
- Join the SAP S/4HANA evaluation team and collaborate with the business in establishing process ownership and driving standard processes.
- Review and maintain system documentation in support of various business requirements and changes.
- Participate and observe in any applicable fiscal year end audit tasks.
- Gain familiarity with the KEI ERP landscape, history, and current state architecture.
- Midterm: (3 to 6 months)
- Assume project management leadership role working with solution partner to scope and plan the ERP transformation project, determining resource needs, timing, approach, etc.
- Gain understanding of the SAP licensing model and assume ownership of regular audits.
- Assume shared ownership of existing internal IT project management tools like ZES_ASAP, charter and MS Project templates, etc.
- Collaborate with current IT Project Manager on needs for new tools and processes to support a global IT PMO.
- Support the evaluation and selection process for third party applications as necessary.
- Long term: (6 to 12 months and beyond)
- Lead overall ERP transformation project and manage project delivery of multiple stakeholders, including third parties as needed.
- Collaborate across teams to enable additional owned SAP toolsets, identify overlapping tool functionality, set standards, and evaluate cost saving opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to SAP best practices and standards in solution design, configuration, and testing.
- Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Educate business users on available productivity tools and solutions, provide guidance, and foster a self-service culture.
- Maximize end user digital adoption.
- Embrace a continuous improvement mindset and collaborate with BU IT teams to identify areas of greatest opportunity.
- Increase the awareness of tools we own and their capabilities.
Basic Background Requirements
This position will require:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or business
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred
- 3 to 5 years of Project Management Experience in multinational manufacturing company preferred
- ERP technical knowledge / experience preferred
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA modules, functionalities, and best practices preferred
- Professional training including Six Sigma, ITIL or Lean are desirable
- Experience with FDA GMP820 and Part 11 impact on IT work for medical device manufacturers is desirable
- Ability to maintain 3rd party working relationships
- A willingness to work flexible hours to support global business needs
- Fluent in English language
- Possess leadership competencies and proven ability to motivate teams and complete large-scale projects

The estimated gross base annual salary range for this role is $85,000– $100,000 per year in New York, California, Washington, Colorado, and Rhode Island. Actual compensation may vary and is dependent on various factors, including a candidate’s work location, qualifications, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of Kimball Electronics’ total rewards and competitive benefits package, which may include 401(k), paid time off, learning and development opportunities, and comprehensive health and wellness benefits. Salary history is not used in compensation package decisions. Kimball Electronics utilizes market pay data to determine compensation, so posted compensation ranges are subject to change as new market data becomes available.
