Position Summary: The Director of Development is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s fundraising initiatives, community programs, and marketing efforts. This position works hand in hand with the Executive Director to steer fundraising growth and partnership development, ensuring the continued growth of the Diabetes Foundation’s critical programming. The role requires strong organizational skills, program management, partnership building, volunteer mobilization, resourcefulness, problem-solving skills, communication skills, the ability to multi-task, lead a team, and maintain high-level communication and discretion. The Director of Development is responsible for driving success in high-level strategic projects related to the organization’s growth and supporting the agency’s day-to-day activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Management:
o Co-manage the planning and execution of annual Visions of Hope Gala or Golf Event.
o Oversee event timelines, budgets, honoree recruitment, committee management, sponsor engagement, registration recruitment, auction item recruitment, and onsite fundraising.
o Handle event logistics, public relations, social media postings, and other relevant aspects.
- Digital Marketing and Communications:
o Oversee the digital marketing program, including email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
o Oversee and implement social marketing programs, including planning, calendar management, messaging, posting, boosting, tagging, and sharing.
o Aim to increase email lists and social media visibility annually.
o Manage Program Marketing Coordinator assuring that all campaigns are executed within the project time frame.
o Assist with marketing efforts that will drive development of program and donor relations.
Community Programs:
o Manage community programs, including annual tabling events, Fall and Spring into Health, and It Takes a Village.
o Schedule events, maintain calendars, develop and cultivate partnerships, and design interventions and marketing plans.
- Fundraising and Donor Management:
o Support gift processing and donor experience through management of Donor Perfect and Constant Contact.
o Execute the annual giving program to grow sustainable income streams, including recruitment of new donors, increasing monthly donors, and donor renewals.
o Manage key campaigns such as annual giving, leadership and major giving, planned to giving, grants, peer-to-peer fundraising, and sponsorships.
o Assist with grant tracking and report writing as needed.
- Reporting and Communication:
o Generate and present, fundraising, and marketing reports.
o Clearly and concisely report on participant results, engagement, and other success metrics.
Other Duties:
o Handle other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
o Member of the leadership team, representing the organization at internal and external meetings.

o Bachelor’s degree and/or proven experience in fundraising.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Evenings as needed
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
