About This Role:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate, plan, and facilitate adult library events and services.
- Collaborate with Central’s Makerspace, genealogy, and Youth Services departments for library events.
- Provides assistance with patron inquiries, including technology, reader's advisory, and circulation duties, including cash handling.
- Participate in branch and system outreach events.
- Manage portion of the collection through weeding and rebalancing.
- Serves as a person in charge when needed.
- May serve as a Passport Agent.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in library and information sciences (MLIS or MLS) from an accredited program.
Preferences:
- Customer service experience in library, bookstore, or retail settings.
- Experience assisting people with diverse computer skills.
- Experience planning and facilitating events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites (Word, Office, Publisher, Outlook)
- Library collection management experience.
- Experience troubleshooting office equipment like copiers and printers.
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The schedule involves working one evening every week and rotating Saturdays. Central Library’s scheduling hours are Monday through Wednesday 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., and Thursday-Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Central is currently closed on Sundays, but may change for business needs.
Starting Salary Range: $65,910 - $79,408 Annually
