Responsibilities:
- Routinely observes in classroom and provide actionable, supportive feedback and suggestions.
- Create professional development plans for all teachers; monitor and support teacher development
- Serves as a mentor teacher working in classrooms when there is a teacher shortage or need for technical assistance.
- Models and provides coaching for developmentally appropriate practice for teachers in the classrooms.
- Meets regularly as part of the leadership team to share concerns and progress.
- Implement quality initiatives and action plans related to professional development and curriculum development
- Conducts teacher meetings providing updates, best practices and gathering teacher feedback
- Lead the teacher hiring and new teacher orientation/onboarding process
- Assists with classroom teacher performance appraisals.
- Checks lesson plans weekly and gives feedback and approval.
- Provide/purchase needed materials and supplies for the implementation of the curriculum and approved lesson plans
- Daily management of classroom ratios
- Daily Huddle/Monthly staff meeting attendance is required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent experience; or combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five years classroom experience with children birth to five.
- Two years of experience supervising adults in a child care & education setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs multiple times a day.
- Must be able to sit on floor and interact with children.
