AUTOMOTIVE SHOP HELPER
No experience required
To assist in the daily operations of the automotive shop.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Plug and unplug storage containers from the power source within the terminal.

Record and maintain a log of container temperatures within the terminal.
-
Install and plugin forklift batteries.
-
Fill forklift propane tanks.
-
Assist in loading and unloading of parts delivery vehicles.
-
Escorting Non-TWIC holders.
-
Perform routine housekeeping duties in the shop and work area.
-
Maintain a professional work atmosphere.
-
Fuel equipment.
-
May assist mechanics in vehicle maintenance/repairs.
-
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:

Self-motivated; capable of working independently
-
Ability to routinely lift weights of 30+ lbs.

Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, sitting. lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, and climbing).

Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
-
Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.
Join local union after a 90-day probationary period.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Must have a High School diploma or GED.

Must be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).

Must possess a valid driver's license.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
-
90% of daily time spent outside.
-
Exposure to noise, heat, dust, and fumes as found in a repair facility.
-
Exposure to extreme weather conditions is possible.
