Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to individuals in their homes or in nursing home settings.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support individuals with meal preparation and feeding.
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients.
- Follow care plans and communicate any changes or concerns to supervisors.
- Provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments.
- Implement memory care techniques for individuals with dementia.
Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other special needs.
- Knowledge of personal care techniques and ability to perform tasks such as bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Familiarity with home care practices and ability to provide a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
- Ability to follow instructions and care plans provided by healthcare professionals.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and healthcare team members.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor to provide emotional support to clients.
- Ability to adapt to different environments and work well in various settings such as homes or nursing homes.
