Huff & Huff, Inc. a subsidiary of GZA (H&H/GZA) is currently seeking a Regulated Substances Coordinator from two to four years’ experience to support our environmental practice in our Oak Brook, Illinois office. The successful candidates will have a solid educational background and must be self-motivated with a professional attitude.
As a Regulated Substances Coordinator, you will work with a fast-paced team of Scientists, geologists, and Engineers working on Illinois Department of Transportation projects for District 1. This role will be an embed role at the IDOT District 1 office assisting the District 1 Environmental Studies Unit. We are seeking the Regulated Substances Coordinator with experience in IDOT Preliminary Environmental Site Assessments (PESA), Preliminary Site Investigations (PSI), and general knowledge of IDOT Policies regarding non-special, special and hazardous wastes.
The qualified candidates must have experience, knowledge, or interest in the following environmental activities:
Regulated Substances and project coordination:
- Review BDE 2730 - Regulated Substance Pre-Construction Plan (RSPCP) reports for firm and monitoring personnel qualifications, contractor health and safety, and to ensure the project will be completed in accordance with SSRBC Section 669.
- Review BDE 2733 - Regulated Substance Final Construction Reports (RSFCR) reports to ensure the construction work and regulated substances management was completed in accordance with SSRBC Section 669 and the approved BDE 2730 (RSPCP).
- Review of BDE 2289 and 2290 forms to ensure proper protocols are followed for borrow material (2289) or site use/waste disposal (2290).
- Distribute ISGS PESAs to Project Managers for use in preparing PESA response as necessary.
- Preparing submittal request forms for Phase II design Risk Managed Projects and PSI projects to D1 Regulated Substances Unit.
- Preparing Pre-Construction meeting information packets with regards to Regulated substances.

Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Geology, Environmental Science
- Ability to travel locally and regionally
- A valid driver’s license in good standing
