Responsibilities:
1. Work Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery of component parts and to maintain adequate stock of finished goods to meet sales demands.
- Coordinate production workflows, machine shop operations, and assembly department activities to optimize efficiency.
- Oversee the production process and ensure that production targets are met.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
2. MRP (Material Requirements Planning):
- Manage material requirements planning, ensuring accurate and timely material procurement.
- Optimize batch sizing and maintain inventory levels to maximize production resources and ensure availability of materials.
3. Purchasing:
- Oversee the procurement of materials and components required for production.
- Engage with suppliers to ensure the highest quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
4. Supervision of Machinists and Assembly Workers:
- Lead and motivate a skilled team of machinists and assembly workers.
- Provide training and guidance to enhance their talents and productivity.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Continuously evaluate and improve production processes for maximum productivity.
5. Quality Management:
- Maintain and improve quality control standards, including ISO 13485 compliance.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to meet internal and regulatory requirements.
- Train and supervise production staff to ensure adherence to quality standards.
6. Tooling and Equipment Management:
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of instruments, machinery, and equipment.
- Evaluate the need for new tools and equipment and coordinate their acquisition.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues or equipment malfunctions
Qualifications:
-Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in production management.
-Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and production scheduling.
-Experience with Oracle NetSuite would be advantageous.
-Experience with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
-Excellent leadership and team management skills.
-Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
