As an Excavation Project Manager, you will assist in preparing the project plans for various excavation and site utility projects. Your role will be crucial in supporting our lead estimator and helping our project managers plan to ensure the success and profitability of each project.
What You Will Do
- Estimation: Assist the Lead estimator in preparing accurate and comprehensive costing
- Project management on excavation projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Bid Management: Support the bid process from start to finish, including analyzing project requirements, soliciting bids from vendors and subcontractors
- Cost Analysis: Support the cost analysis process and value engineering assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance project profitability, recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure project success, and other stakeholders to develop cost-effective solutions and strategies for the projectexecution, vendor pricing and ensuring compliance with company standards and industryregulations.
Ideal Candidates
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate project risks and uncertainties, providing insights and

- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project estimates, bids,
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience with underground, utilities, excavation, trucking and gravel, a bonus!
- Has takeoff experience (required)
- At least two years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry, focusing on excavation and site utility projects.
- Expertise in construction estimation techniques, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, bid preparation, specifications, and drawings accurately.Suite.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret project
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (HCSS preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of local construction codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
