Sales Support Specialists on our Direct Sales Team are responsible for assisting licensed Sales Agents and Clients with getting applications through the underwriting process. Your priority will be to serve as a liaison between Direct Sales, Clients, Underwriting/New Business, and vendor partners to keep applications moving forward. Communication channels you will use include phone/dialer, text, email, and chat.
Key Responsibilities:
- Connect with clients to enhance sales and facilitate the receipt of all underwriting requirements necessary for policy decisions. This includes answering questions and following up on missing information, paramedical exams, forms and questionnaires, medical records, as well as special authorizations.
- Diligently respond to all questions and issues in a timely manner to maintain high customer satisfaction and improve sales throughput ratios.
- Address objections/questions and continuously guide clients toward successful outcomes, which are issued and paid life insurance policies.
- Assist Sales Agents with exception policy exceptions, to keep them focused on generating new business opportunities.
- Accurately document all activity and follow-up steps in our Sales CRM.
- Meet or exceed performance metrics.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, policies/procedures, as well as customer service techniques.
Necessary Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of Life insurance products, the underwriting process and industry protocols (preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree in business-related discipline preferred
- Customer service, sales experience or call center experience
- Strong communication and phone presence skills
- Detail-orientated with keen analytical skills
- Skilled at communicating through all media- phone, text, chat and e-mail
- Proficient with technology. Deep Microsoft Office and CRM experience. (Salesforce preferred)
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Quick learner, adapts to change and open to continuous improvement
- Passionate about helping people and building lasting relationships
