We are currently looking for a Dermatology LPN or RN to join Perlmutter Dermatology in a full time capacity. Our practice is small, fast-paced, and growing! We care for pediatric and adult patients with a variety of skin care needs including medical, surgical, and some cosmetic. We are looking for a motivated, hardworking, and flexible nurse to be part of the team. At Perlmutter Dermatology, we treat our patients as if they were our family. Dr. Alexis Perlmutter is the sole provider at Perlmutter Dermatology. She is a board-certified Pediatrician and Dermatologist and cares for pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Perlmutter has been practicing in the Capital Region for 8 years and plans to be here for the long run. Our practice is a physician-owned private practice.
Job Summary
The clinic nurse provides direct patient care and primary clinical support for physician and other providers in the outpatient setting to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition. Functions as an integral member of the health care team under the direction of the provider. Performs clinical duties such as preparing patients, collecting and reviewing pertinent information, performing technical duties (see below), documenting using the electronic medical record, and supporting a safe environment for patients.
Job Duties
- Assist providers in skin biopsies and skin excisions
- Administer injectable biologic medications to patients
- Draw up injectable medications for the providers to administer
- Sterilize and prepare medical tools, equipment and rooms
- Set up room for procedures as instructed by the providers
- Call patients with pathology results and explain the pathology result and the next steps to the treatment plan
- Remove sutures
- Apply and change wound dressings
- Apply and remove allergen patch tests
- Complete referrals and prior-authorizations
- Collects and prepares laboratory specimens such as skin swabs and completes associated paperwork accurately and efficiently to expedite laboratory studies.
- Educate and update patients on procedures, medical treatments and medications
- Conduct follow up calls for patients after appointments or if any questions arise
- Ensure rooms are stocked daily
- Use the electronic medical record to document completely and accurately into the medical records
- Inventories medical and surgical supplies and pharmaceuticals non-controlled substances only to ensure adequate supply levels, verify expiration dates, document utilization, optimize organizational efficiency and space utilization.
- Under the direction of the provider and/or site lead, assists with orientation of new personnel.

Education
Graduate from state approved LPN or RN
Experience
Experience in Dermatology nursing preferred
Certifications and Licenses
Current LPN or RN License

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
