What is the job?
This position will serve as an extension of PSS Engineering and Quality to provide field-based technical support, grow with PSS, and have an immediate impact on product design. Responsiveness, a willingness to learn, ambition to grow with an excitement for developing world-class safety products, and effective communication are vital for success.
What you will be doing --
- Traveling to customers for product demonstrations, trouble-shooting, and/or repairing electro-mechanical systems.
- Working with selected vendors to assure product specifications and timeliness of orders.
- Working with egineering and production to document techniques and processes.
- Assisting with preventive maintenance training on plant equipment and fixtures.
- Assisting Quality Control with incoming/outgoing shipment inspections.
- Working with R&D on product development by brainstorming product concepts and designs, and fabricating and testing prototypes.
- Assisting with in-house maintenance needs.
We are looking for someone who has - -
- Strong mechanical background and skills.
- Effective communication skills – particularly interpersonal, in working with customers and others.
- Can resolve in-service product issues in-service quickly.
- Strong customer orientation and effective communications skills that will help in building relationships, present ideas, and resolve issues in a collaborative manner.
- Excellent computer skills with competency using Microsoft Office and the ability to become proficient with all related company systems and programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, complimented with high energy and a sense of urgency in responding to external and internal customer needs.
- A high level of personal and professional integrity.
- A valid drivers license and a powered equipment operator’s license.
What you need --
At least an Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, including a mechanical background.
