Position Description:
Ecompex is recruiting for a Fire Protection Engineer to join a team of engineers and project managers supporting the 11th Civil Engineer Squadron at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB) in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will apply their subject matter expertise to existing construction and engineering projects, including planning, design development, and project management.
Work is on-site, with opportunity for performance-based hybrid work schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a Tier 1 background investigation to be placed in a position of Public Trust.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire protection or Fire safety engineering, or another engineering discipline with appropriate training and experience in fire protection engineering
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing plans, solutions, and fire protection designs for facility and infrastructure projects and systems
- Experience with US design and construction standards
- Understanding of fire health and safety standards
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint, Word, Excel.
- Strong communication, written, and verbal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant design standards and regulations, ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proficient in technical writing and editing, particularly for architect and engineering (A/E) criteria development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide management and oversite of contracts, develop technical requirements to deliver to the A/E contractor, develop cost estimates and design instructions, support data for DD Form 1391’s.
- Perform technical reviews of data deliverables submitted by A/E contractors.
- Provide acquisition support.
- Deliver project status reports, technical presentations, and technical expertise.
- Provide agendas and meeting minutes, facilitate meetings.
- Fully manage the execution of a construction project and handover/close out. Input project data into Navy or Air Force online systems.
- Review and certify documents requirements on projects as needed.
