AMG & Associates, LLC (AMG) is a mid-size land development company that specializes in the development of rental housing in California and other western states. AMG principals are involved in all aspects of the development process in which all of its projects involve an institutional capital partner and an experienced development partner.
We are on the hunt for a highly motivated Associate Project Manager to join our fast-paced housing development firm in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate has a background in Urban Planning or related field and wants to continue to grow in the Project Management field.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively manage project-related issues and focus on meeting project requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Assist with management of project schedules, requests for proposal, invoice tracking & processing, reporting, and all project deliverables from due diligence through entitlements and construction
- Managing Acquisitions and deal closing process. (i.e contract management and escrow)
- Entitlement management i.e. assists with preparing submittals and applications and meeting planning requirements
- Research and analyze a variety of sources such as general plans, ordinances, court decisions, legal documents and articles for use in determining highest and best use of multi-family development projects
- Participate in site selection, due diligence review, and approvals for proposed new land acquisitions for the development of residential development
- Assist with processing and execution of contracts, agreements, amendments, and due diligence items
- Interact with external design team, general contractors and vendors throughout the design document development and project cycle.
- Support research efforts & follow up on a variety of project tasks.
- Real Estate Development underwriting, and pro-forma analysis.
- Structuring purchase and sale contracts for new land opportunities across California, Arizona, and Utah.
- Interact and collaborate with outside parties (engineers, land owners, real estate brokers, attorneys, contractors, architects, homebuilders, planners, contractors, city representatives, joint venture partners) as needed
- Assemble construction loan packages and negotiate favorable terms with lenders.
- Creating cost benefit analysis outlining financial implications of management decisions in existing portfolio of buildings
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in architecture, construction, urban planning or design industry experience strongly preferred. Specifically, in the areas of development, project management, construction or design management.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with preferred focus in Urban Planning or related field strongly preferred.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and strong analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently
- Basic skills in reading architectural drawings and specifications preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office in Microsoft Office computer applications and Google Earth
- Excellent analytical, financial modeling and finance/economics skills desired
- Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results
- Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external project needs
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Position will be full time working in our Encino office with periodic site visits
- Face to face and remote interaction is required to perform the job
