Job Summary
The Facilities Technician -HVAC will maintain efficient and smooth operation of the physical jobsite. This position is responsible for AC installation, repair, and maintenance and furnace installation, repair and maintenance.
Duties/Responsibilities
· Experience in building infrastructure equipment to include, but not limited to, generators, power distribution units (PDU), uninterruptible power systems (UPS), automatic transfer switches (ATS) and HVAC systems.
· Ensures assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use.
· Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
· Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly.
· Acts as liaison between employees and any outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems.
· Ensures safety standards are followed throughout facilities
· Participates on Emergency Preparedness and Safety teams.
· Applies, or assists with application, for required environmental permits.
· Maintains inventory of supplies; reorders as needed.
· Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning and heating.
· Proficiency in reading schematics.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software necessary to create and maintain reports and logs.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
· At least five years of related work experience in building facility mechanics and electrical systems.
· Maintenance Connection Building Management System Access
· Must possess a valid driver’s license.
· HVAC and EPA license preferred but not required.
· Proficiency in MicroSoft Suite
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities.
· Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
· Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
· Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
· Must be able to travel.
