The Company
240 Certification is a state-wide Texas alternative certification program (ACP) offering a full range of certification options online to prepare candidates to obtain Texas teaching certification. Since transitioning to an online program in the spring of 2021, 240 Certification has expanded from 15 to close to 800 teacher candidates serving students all over the state! This expansion necessitates that we grow to continue to support the needs of our teacher candidates in the field.
The Position
MISSION
The mission of the Admissions Support Specialist is to support and enhance the technical elements that drive 240 Certification's program from application to enrollment. The process must be implemented to meet and exceed TEA's requirements and make the experience meaningful and personal for our applicants/candidates, stakeholders, and team members.
OBJECTIVES
- Align processes and daily operations and practices with the Texas Administrative Code (TAC)
- Understand applicants' needs and goals through personalized service, following applications up with phone calls, emails, and text messages to see if they have any questions and to educate them on their next steps
- Be able to use company CRM software, Google Sheets, and the state's and EPP's electronic databases/platforms to access/input information for applicants and candidates
- Ensure that processes used by the EPP protect the customers' personally identifiable information
- Contribute to other tasks and projects as time permits or as becomes necessary as the program expands and evolves
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Access to a remote working area (we are a remote company with our certification office located in Longview, Texas)
- You will need to be available at least 10 hours per week between the hours of 9:00-5:00 pm CST Monday through Friday (our "open" hours). The work will include both internal and external communications (frontward facing on virtual calls). As an independent contractor, you can decide how many hours you are available to work within that window, but 240 may prioritize working with contractors who can work consistently more than 10 hours each week.
- Personal characteristics: Self-manager; people-oriented; organized; attention to detail; can balance the tasks and needs of the team and our potential customers; can be flexible and adjust in a fast-paced environment; strong communication skills, including verbal and written communication; has an openness to learning new technology programs, platforms, and systems
Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Certified teaching experience is a plus but not necessary for success
