PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain district security systems. Maintain and provide the safe condition and operation of all alarm, access controls, camera, and security systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification/Licensure:
High school diploma or GED- preferred
Valid Texas Journeyman or Master License- preferred
Valid Driver’s License- REQUIRED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Follow all written and verbal work assignments, and able to read blueprints, schematics and written reference material
Perform basic computer tasks
Demonstrate general knowledge associated with given craft and ability to operate tools (hand and power) in a safe and efficient manner
Possess general knowledge of the district’s organization and operation
Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision
Detail oriented
Strong communication, public relations, organizational, customer service and interpersonal skills
Follow written and/oral directions and to exercise good judgment
Think clearly and sensibly to solve practical problems and deal with many variables in situations
Ability to travel to various locations throughout the district
Work Conditions:
Tools/Equipment Used: Work related technical and non-technical equipment
Posture: Frequent sitting, standing and walking; frequent bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; frequent use of ladder and stairs
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including prolonged keyboarding & use of mouse; frequent reaching
Lifting: Lifting and carrying including equipment, tools and ladders (50 pounds);
Environment: Work with frequent interruptions; must maintain professional demeanor under stress; ability to withstand a wide range of temperatures at varying times inside and outside of normal work hours as well as the ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time; frequent exposure to high noise levels
Regular attendance is an essential function
Minimum Experience:
Low voltage electrical systems maintenance, repair, and installation experience is preferred.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Maintain and repair alarm systems, splice fiber optics cable, door access control systems, IP cameras, alarm access control, camera and security systems, gate security systems, and voltage/panic communication systems.

Follow established safety procedures and techniques and correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor.

Perform preventative maintenance on all security systems and make recommendations of needed supplies to supervisor.

Complete work in top notch workmanship like manner.

Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics and Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace as specified in Board Policy DH (LEGAL), DH(LOCAL), DHE(LEGAL), DHE(LOCAL), and DHE(EXHIBIT).
