Job Description
This position is for an assistant to our current Shipping Manager. We are a 250,000 sqft warehouse/office seeking someone full-time w/ experience in domestic shipping to assist our current Shipping Manager.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
1. Preferred 1+ years experience in e-commerce, logistics or transportation-related field.
2. Professional demeanor on the phone as well as in person.
3. Strong planning and organizational skills.
4. Basic computer skills: must have proficient knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc...
5. Must type at least 40+ wpm.
6. The ability to multi-task and is both a team player and a self starter.
7. Must be able to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and under high pressure.
9. Experience with shipment routing and EDI and ASN processing Preferred.
10. Working Experience in Warehousing / Logistic industries Preferred.
11. English and Bilingual Mandarin Preferred.
12. Requires substantial attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
1. Scheduling/Routing outbound shipments.
2. Work closely with accounts to ensure orders ship on time.
3. Work closely with carrier network to ensure in transit shipments are processed, tracked, updated, and delivered as required.
4. Dealing with shipping issues, minimizing extra expenses and ensuring company procedures and best practices are followed.
5. Reviewing and resolving discrepancies for freight bills.
6. Ensuring that performance and cost expectations for external transportation providers are clearly communicated, reinforced, measured and met.
7. Create daily receiving and shipping schedule.
8. Schedule trucking.
9. Maintain inventory.
10. Other duties to be assigned.
