An International Non-Profit focused on global grantmaking is looking for a Marketing & Communications Associate. In this role you will work with the Marketing and Communications team to help plan, create, and implement communications strategies, with a focus on building awareness of the organization’s mission and engaging prospects and donors with long-form content and event opportunities. The ideal candidate will have an interest or prior experience working in international philanthropy or the nonprofit sector.
This is a hybrid position that will require 1-2 days per week in the office in Alexandria, VA.
Responsibilities of the Marketing & Communications Associate include:
- Provide project management and administrative support for marketing and communications initiatives and events, including one-off engagements and recurring/long-term projects.
- Collate quantitative and qualitative data points (e.g., engagement rates, reach, etc.) that measure the performance of our campaigns and progress towards key performance indicators. Provide analysis and identify areas of opportunity for future initiatives.
- Implement marketing campaigns promoting events, recent thought leadership, and other organizational activities.
- Support our blog and other long-form content development; may include participating in interviews with grantee partners or donors, drafting copy, and sourcing and building visuals.
- Perform basic content programming and formatting edits on our websites.
- Program marketing emails and newsletters for distribution to donors and grantee partners.
Requirements of the Marketing & Communications Associate:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (International Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism etc.)
- 1-2 years of professional experience ideally in working in international philanthropy, grantmaking, and the nonprofit sector.
- Superior attention to detail and ability to accurately navigate large and detailed databases.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to adjust communications according to the end recipient.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with using basic Microsoft and Google office software programs (such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Gmail, Documents, Sheets, and Slides).
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a big plus.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
