POSITION OVERVIEW
Dispensary Agents will be responsible for hosting, educating and assisting Adult-Use guests within the Budega Inc. DBA Herbwell Cannabis dispensing location. All Dispensary Agents will attend a training course conducted by Budega Inc. DBA Herbwell Cannabis as well as state required RVT prior to executing any job responsibilities. Upon completion of all required training, Dispensary Agents will assist 21+ guests on the retail floor and execute cannabis transactions from start to finish.
In the cannabis industry, there are some essential qualifications that include but are not limited to; a passion for the plant, a desire to expand product knowledge, high-quality customer service, and respect for compliance. They will be expected to verify customer ID cards, answer questions regarding cannabis product information, safe consumption, and general use. Dispensary Agents will use the consultation time with guests to inform them of necessary compliance regulations that impact their purchase, transport, storage, and use of the cannabis products. Dispensary Agents will be responsible for understanding the guests' needs and guiding them to an appropriate product selection. This requires good listening skills, an understanding of the product selection available, and the ability to communicate necessary information. Since cannabis is a highly regulated industry, it is essential that Dispensary Agents distribute products to guests correctly and in a compliant manner. Cash handling skills, attention to detail, as well as developing an understanding of Massachusetts (CCC) rules and regulations will be a daily responsibility. The role and responsibilities of all Dispensary Agents will be overseen by the General Manager and their leadership team; Assistant Manager.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend and complete Responsible Vendor Training Program (RVT) as well as 8 hours of annual training
- Application of all company SOPs to ensure retail regulatory compliance and efficient work environments
- Customer service and advanced communication skills
- Educate and provide all guests with consumer education materials
- Maintain a friendly, positive, and outgoing demeanor while interacting with guests
- Ability to retain knowledge of the current cannabis and non-cannabis product selection
- Ongoing development and advancement of cannabis knowledge; industry knowledge, product trends, news, etc.
- Advanced listening skills and ability to provide quality product recommendations
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of cannabis relating to Adult-Use consumers and relevant regulations
- Understanding and execution; proper guest identification, confidentiality, and privacy
- Understanding and execution; safe cannabis handling and storage practices
- Understanding and execution; proper anti-diversion tactics
- Hold safety and security to a high standard
- Ability to utilize a POS system and other technology to complete transactions in a compliant manner
- Maintain and balance a daily cash drawer
- Preparing, organizing, and transacting online orders
- Daily dispensary operating tasks; cleaning, organizing, auditing, and performing other duties as assigned
- Positively contribute to the organization and the ideals set forth by Budega Inc. DBA Herbwell Cannabis
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the US; state-required
- Ability to pass a CORI background check; state-required
- Ability to adapt to frequent and essential business changes
- 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience preferred
- Must be a reliable and dependable applicant
- Heightened attention to detail
- Ability to quickly learn procedures, acquire cannabis product knowledge, and apply the knowledge in the workplace
- Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, fellow employees, and managers
- A desire to help others, people-oriented, team-oriented perspectives within the workplace
- Must be able to thrive as an individual employee but also work well with others
- Ability to remain calm and organized in high-volume sales scenarios
- Ability to have a flexible schedule, open availability required (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Ability to utilize a computer (POS system, email, etc.) and other necessary technology (printers, copy machines, barcode scanners, etc.) to complete sales-related tasks
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (10-hour shifts) and lift up to 30 lbs
- Bending and crouching will be a repetitive movement on the sales floor
- Ability to work in person, non-remote position
