Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining and reconciling the general ledger to ensure the integrity of company accounting data. The role also serves as the primary reviewer of junior accounting staff work product, and the oversight of day to day accounting activities. The qualified individual will have experience with financial analysis for efficiency across all accounting processes with an ability to gather, manipulate and analyze data in order to communicate insights and influence outcomes. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will be a self-motivated individual who can demonstrate the ability to understand and define processes to identify weaknesses and to continually generate new solutions and process improvements to meet the needs of the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Ledger Accounting
- Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations and verifies all reconciliations are completed for
- End Of Month Financial Book by appropriate staff. Compile balance sheet reconciliations by
- Company in Month end close book.
- Oversee Credit Card Charges, Posting and Monthly Reconciliation.
- Administrator of Expensify
- Administrator of ordering new CCs and needs are defined by upper management
- Prepares monthly/quarterly/annual sales and use tax filings and associated ledger entries
- Provide day to day guidance, support and feedback to AR and AP teams
- Support accounting projects as needed
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for management as needed
Supervisory Support
- Assist Controller and Accounting Manager with day to day accounting oversight
- Review of junior accounting staff daily work product
- Lead evaluation and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to staff
- Take lead role in mentorship, development and training of less experienced staff
Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent – Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting – Required
Experience
- At least 5 years Finance/Accounting experience, cost accounting experience a plus
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing setting and experience with Inventory accounting
- Experience with inventory and fixed asset subledger software packages
- Consolidation of multiple affiliated companies accounting experience a plus
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office suite

Pay: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
