Job Description
Part-time Sales Associate at the Downtown Charleston location of Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Patissier (90 Society Street). Associate will be responsible for handling products, providing customer service, and overall shop cleanliness. Other tasks include but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Store Manager (SM) as directed.
- Completing operational procedures including but not limited to: restocking daily supplies, brewing French pressed coffee and cold brew, handling chocolate and pastries, assembling chocolate and macaron gift boxes.
- Completing daily tasks assigned by the SM in a timely and efficient manner.
- Building retail packaging for in-store use.
- Developing good customer relationships and addressing customer service needs.
- Responding to any floor changes made by the SM quickly and professionally.
*Note: the position reflected in this post is a sales associate position. Our shop is chocolate and pastry retail with no table service.
Workday Expectations
- Break lengths/scheduling are determined by the individual’s needs
- Weekend availability is expected
- Depending on the shift schedule, the earliest start time is 8:30 AM, and the latest time scheduled will be 6:30 PM. (Exceptions around the Holidays mentioned below, end times may be earlier or later.)
- Wednesday - Sunday: 9 AM - 6 PM
Weekend & Holiday Expectations
Holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Mother’s Day are extremely important and require adequate staffing. Working during the holiday season and the week leading up to Valentine’s Day is mandatory. There is flexibility towards not working the entire schedule. This position does not have a set schedule and requires working on the weekends. Individual availability is taken into consideration and accommodated when possible.

December 24th: Close Early
December 25th-26th: CLOSED
December 31st: Close Early
January 1-2: CLOSED

Education and Training Requirements
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Keyholding experience (preferred)
Minimum 1 years experience in a retail or sales position (preferred)
Food and beverage background (strongly encouraged)
Compensation Package
$13-16.50/hour
