There are two main aspects of this position. 1. Event Space Sales 2. Events Management
You will be responsible for every aspect of an event, starting with receiving inquires, communicating inquiry details, coordinating tours, booking events, receiving payments, planning for building logistics, timing coordinating the day of event.
We require our Events Venue Manager to be well-organized, a people person, and competent with computer applications and ability to learn events CRM (Planning Pod or Perfect Venue ideally).
Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. Add a shot of enthusiasm and passion for the job and the events business and you'll be our ideal candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Receive event inquires / leads, follow up, book and conduct showings (requires weekend showings which is a key to success)
- Plan event with attention to details & understand & document requirements for each event, and provide all details to contract writer
- Review and schedule staffing and staff assignments for day of event
- Manage all event operations (preparing venue, booking vendors, receiving insurance and documents & payments in advance.)
- Perform or have staff scheduled final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards (this position will require working certain events on weekends, but not all)
- Manage event files on computer Windows and web application software
Experience / Requirements
- Ideally 3+ years venue or event management experience (or catering sales or management)
- Proficient in MS Office and web applications
- Excellent vendor management skills
- Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
- Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
- Able to handle stress and remain calm, and communicate back and forth with clients about numerous questions and details for each event
- Ability to work well with others, conduct themselves positively within a team
