As Shop Foreman, you will be leading, supervising and coaching the technicians, dealing with customers, reporting to the Service Manager. A positive, self-starter attitude is a must.
Duties:
- Leads, supervises and coaches the service technician team
- Providing training and helping technicians develop skills
- Ensuring compliance with regulations affecting service operations
- Conducting performance reviews for employees
- Keeping up to date with manufacturer warranties and policies
- Checking the progress of repairs and service
- Greeting customers and maintaining relationships
- Handling complaints
- Assists technicians as needed.
- Walks and evaluates the Service department.
- Reviews the work orders on the jobs in the Service department.
- Reviews the daily job schedules with Shop Foreman and Service Manager to evaluate the jobs coming in for the day
- Verifies with the technicians that they have the parts needed to do the jobs they have in the Service department
- Verifies jobs are assigned based on technicians’ experience
- Areas to review in the Service department work orders (filled out, quality assurance and damage inspection)
- Training (daily basis, training needs)
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position directly supervises Technicians and carries out supervisory responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to reach and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and Customers
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Proven record with providing excellent customer service
- Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to organize and prioritize/manage a variety of tasks and projects
- Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
- Ability to work within set time frames and fixed deadlines
- General trade techniques, materials and practices of trades that are related to automotive and mechanical repair work
- Proven success record leading and supervising teams
- Must be able to take direction
Experience:
- Three (3) years' experience in management or as a mechanic in automotive or heavy equipment industry.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements will be considered.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
