Position: Accounting Clerk

Position Purpose:
The Accounting Clerk, processes all invoices for the hotel, will be assisting the Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable area. Responsible for the collection of accounts. Prepares a variety of reports for internal use and other duties as assigned.
To ensure accuracy and timeliness of customer statements by posting accounts, allowances, refunds, and payments. Prepares aging and other reports for internal use.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains the purchase order log and issued purchase orders.
- Opens all mail.
- Processes all regular and F&B invoices check requests, and expense reports for the hotel.
- Maintains all a/p files.
- Strong PC/typing skills.
- Maintains P.O. files.
- Stamps and codes all invoices, check requests, and expense reports for payment.
- Audits a/p statements to ascertain outstanding invoices.
- Prepares F&B transmittals.
- Inputs all invoices for payment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities – Accounting Clerk
- Assure the accuracy of daily management reports by inspecting all backup for proper documentation; balance and verify figures against individual department reports.
- Check and balance all retail systems and note all discrepancies (PMS POS).
- Review and balance discounts, manager charges, paid outs, miscellaneous charges and comp charges to the Property Management System and distribute daily management reports.
- Billing-sending accurate bill to the clients on time and follow up on payment
- Organizes, files, distributes, faxes, answers telephone and responds to caller inquires.
- Performs Other duties as assigned and other essential functions necessary in the daily department operation
Position Requirements:
- Meet strict time deadlines.
- Work well with minimum supervision.
- Able to think and act independently.
- Operate calculator, PC, Keyboard.
- Extreme attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.
- Data entry.
Education/Experience: High school diploma and a minimum of one (1) year experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Detailed oriented, basic understanding of accounting process, excel, 10 key, effective communicator, Opera Knowledge a plus

This position reports to the Controller.

Pay: $21.20 - $25.53 per hour
