JOB
Under general supervision, is responsible for supporting Bexar County Information Technology team; will support the mission of the County, ensuring successful delivery of IT services as defined in the duties and responsibilities. This position will represent the County in a professional and effective manner and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public. Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement.This position is Excluded from Civil Service
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Serves as subject matter expert, individually motivated and operating with a sense of urgency and personal accountabilityProvides end user computing equipment, software applications, and infrastructure supportTroubleshoots and communicates with end users via software tools, telephone, or in personInstalls and relocates end user computing equipmentPerforms preventative maintenance work on end user computing equipmentMaintains accurate records of software/hardware installation and relocationInteracts with network infrastructure, applications, and other IT subject matter experts to resolve and/or identify and correct core problemSimulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficultiesDeploys defined computing image configurationsResponds to after-hour calls as needed to support service ticketsRecommends systems modifications to reduce user problemsRefers more complex problems to intermediate and/or senior level information technology staffEnsures appropriate handling and inventory of computing peripheral devicesMay mentor and train Support Services Specialist I staffPerforms other related technology duties and projects as assigned
