What to Expect
As a member of the Autopilot hardware team, you will be responsible for enabling Tesla's neural networks on our upcoming in-house custom Machine Learning Silicon. Machine learning engineers are expected to understand neural network architecture, compilers and mapping of various operations on to the hardware. The ideal candidate is an experienced ML engineer, with strong understanding of GPUs and AI accelerators, and is comfortable working rapidly in a small-team environment.
What You’ll Do

Analyzing and deploying state-of-the-art neural networks on GPU, AI accelerator and performance models

Develop ML compiler support for new hardware features

Build high-level performance models and analyze performance

Propose new hardware features, backed by performance estimates

Debug performance bottlenecks and issues in hardware or simulation
What You’ll Bring
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or evidence of equivalent experience and exceptional skills

5+ years of experience in machine learning frameworks, and optimizing neural network performance on hardware

Comfortable with C++ and python
-
Good understanding of GPU architecture and AI accelerators

Ability to root cause performance issues and debug esoteric symptoms

Go-getter attitude and capable of pursuing tough engineering challenges to final solutions
