Job Description:

Responsible for successfully leading a project team to meet business requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area.

Develop, oversee, and coordinate the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and stakeholders.

Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.

Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks.

Develops, monitors, and statuses detailed MS Project schedules.

Uses Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reports to manage project performance.

Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.

Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
Essential Functions:
- Experience with design and development of electronics or displays for military avionics.

Interface with Engineering Group Leaders and Managers, as well as Program Management, Capture Management, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Experience with best practices for project engineering, EVMS, and program execution.

Experience in complex, multi-discipline programs including but not limited to optical, mechanical, electrical, systems, software, and thermal engineering with a background in Avionics.
- Experience in software development and integration programs.

Experience managing projects with budgets of $10M+.

Experience with Technical Supplier Management, Risk and Opportunity Management.
- Ability to implement and adapt project execution plans that will achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements.

Ability to present to internal and external customers at all levels.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience leading Government Contract development programs preferred.

Experience or knowledge of Government contract acquisition lifecycle a plus.

Experience with management of design to cost activities a plus.

Experience with program pursuit and proposal activities.
-
Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action process and techniques.
-
Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, etc.
-
Experience leading a multi-disciplined team of engineers.
