Overview:
Wage Range: $16.73 - 25.62
DEFINITION OF POSITION:
Performs a variety of duties which enable the Nutrition Services staff to prepare and deliver high-quality food to customers, while accounting for allergies, intolerances, and personal preferences. Duties include handling money, coffee/beverage preparation, food preparation, food service, dish washing and customer service.

Working Conditions:
Inside environment, protected from the weather but not necessarily temperature changes. Subject to temporary exposure to refrigerator and freezer temperatures. Subject to exposure to infection, contagious disease, hazardous materials, and equipment. Variable noise levels. Subject to exposure to extreme temperatures of equipment, food and water, and exposure to hazardous materials and equipment while performing job duties. Occasionally subject to combative patients and visitors.

Qualifications:
Education Preferred: High school diploma or GED. Must be able to speak and write fluent English, and demonstrate basic math skills.
Desired Experience: A thorough knowledge of healthy diet is desired. One or more years experience in health care setting is desired.
Experience required: Experience interacting with people from every socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background, as well as excellent guest relations and communication skills and the ability to function as a member of a team.
Licenses, certifications, and/or registrations: A State of Oregon, Department of Health issued Food Handler's License is required.
Equipment, tools, and work aids: Dish machine, coffee maker, cash register, food chopper, microwave oven, meat slicer, steamer oven, oven, grill, knives, can opener, toaster, tray line, steam table, plate warmer, coffee grinder, walk-in, reach-in, carts, trays, proofer, steam tables, blender, mixer, computer, printer, copy machine, adding machine and any other equipment necessary to perform job. Footwear: Recommended footwear should have a non-skid sole providing good traction on wet hard surface floors. Shoes must cover the toes.
Other: Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred. Ability to work with culturally diverse population.
