The Warehouse Manager will oversee and manage the warehouse and logistics activities within our Phoenix, AZ facility. This includes safety, quality, warehouse and inventory management systems and processes, regulatory compliance along with operational productivity and financial performance. The Warehouse Manager works cross functionally with business and operations leaders to establish and maintain the strategic direction of the function in alignment with divisional goals. Some travel may be required.
Establish and manage distribution center plan, budget and performance with a focus on safety, quality, customer satisfaction and cost
Direct internal staff and external service providers ensuring day-to-day tactical execution thereby maintaining high levels of service
Understand and manage trade-offs between costs and service associated with various distribution center activities taking into account service requirements, safety, inventory levels, regulatory compliance, automation and labor to drive operational excellence
Ensure compliance to OSHA and other local, state and federal regulations and requirements
Ensure the safe upkeep and maintenance of the facility
Lead objective setting, KPI measurement, reporting, organizational development and process improvement in all areas of responsibility in support of business objectives
Evaluate, plan and execute capital budget projects in accordance with Diamond W guidelines and processes
Lead and facilitate implementation of WCM initiatives within the local site
All other duties as assigned
Desired skills and experience
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain/logistics, business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
5+ years of distribution center, warehousing and/or logistics management experience
Experience working in a Union environment strongly preferred.
AS400 experience preferred
Capability to understand internal and external customers and build strong relationships.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with ability to make timely decisions based on facts.
Demonstrated ability to champion change, identify areas for improvement and challenge the status quo.
Willingness to travel 10%
Frequent walking, standing, sitting, kneeling
Use of hands and arms to type, grasp/handle, or reach
Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds without assistance
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as needed
Ability to work adjusted shifts at times to provide coverage/training when required
