Trucking company is seeking experienced Fleet and Asset Manager to oversee repair, maintenance, operation, and optimization of our fleet of sleeper trucks and assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet and asset management (particularly in the trucking industry), possess repair/mechanical experience, and possess exceptional organizational and leadership abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all fleet of sleeper tractors and 53 ft Dry Van trailers.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the fleet.
- Monitor fleet performance and utilization, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Procure and manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate with other associates of the company to allocate equipment resources effectively and ensure timely accomplishment of tasks.
- Supervise drivers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular inspections and audits of equipment and fleet parking facilities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to fleet operations, maintenance activities, and expenses.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and processes to enhance fleet performance and productivity.
- Oversee scheduling of all planned repair work to increase productivity and allocate resources appropriately among multiple trucks and equipment.
- Execute an on-going preventative maintenance program, including identifying trends in road calls, breakdowns and maintenance needs.
- Provide direction and coaching to the Maintenance Team to ensure that all maintenance and repairs are performed in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of technical experience working with class 8 CMV’s. Experience in the OTR trucking industry preferred.
- Technical experience working with Sleepr Trucks is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced experience working with fleet management and onboard computing software
- Ability and passion for coaching, mentoring, and training employees.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of DOT CMV rules, and other federal and local safety regulations and best practices in fleet management.
- Knowledge of fleet servicing, fleet scheduling, fleet analysis, and operations.
