Serve as a leader, working within the church’s vision for the overall growth of Student Ministry through discipleship and outreach to new students. Seek to creatively implement vision in a way that is relevant for the student population in order to engage and equip students. Be mindful that the Student Ministry is a ministry of the fellowship of Houston Northeast Church.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work directly with our Middle School students
- Coordinate and execute discipleship plan for various students
- Assist in recruiting, training, equipping, and developing leaders and volunteers working in the Student Ministry
- Assist in event planning and execution of both Middle School and Student Ministry-wide events
- Assist in scheduling and monitoring volunteers
- Create graphics/reels for both internal and external use
- Assist in leading and teaching lessons
- Assist in budget planning
- Manage members and events using Asana and The Rock
- Attend meetings and trainings as required
- Maintain accurate records and expense reports
- Maintain confidentiality
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare classrooms for services and activities (i.e. - cleaning, tidying, moving furniture)
- Be available all day on Sundays and Wednesdays for Student Ministry activities
- Attend all events and services as requested by the Middle School Director
- Maintain email and phone communication and the workload of their contents
- Assist administratively (i.e. - ordering/picking up supplies, sending emails, etc.)
- Meet and lead small groups on and off campus
- Attend student outings as scheduling allows (i.e. - games, plays, etc)
- Plan and attend overnight camps, retreats, and mission trips

Qualifications
- Heart and passion for students
- 2 years experience working with students
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Ability to work well with other staff members, volunteers, and church leadership
- Communication Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational Skills
- Ability to plan and coordinate events, manage schedules, and oversee various aspects of the student ministry
- Leadership Skills
- Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire students as well as taking control of tasks/assignments independently unless collaboration is needed.
