POSITION TITLE: CNC Quality Engineer
LOCATION: Cambridge Springs, PA
POSITION SUMMARY and KEY OBJECTIVES: The Quality Engineer will ensure the quality of parts produced meet all customer expectation; quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found; aid in the maintenance of the quality system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and JOB DUTIES:
- Ensure that personnel have the appropriate knowledge and equipment necessary to ensure production parts meet customer requirements and quality standards.
- Ensure that our Quality Management System (QMS) meets IATF and customer specific standards.
- Collaborate with Customers, Production and Engineering personnel to ensure that customer requirements are met.
- Provide support to Production by ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.
- Resolve quality related issues by identifying problems, examining potential solutions, implementing action plans and providing resources to facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts.
- Responsible for conformity to QMS and product requirements and has the authority to stop shipments and stop production.
- Interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to make recommendations for improvements.
- Program and troubleshoot existing automatic inspection equipment.
- Maintain competency for Induction Hardening Inspections.
- Perform and analyze MSA Studies.
- Support Quality Technicians with daily activities.
- Support calibration activities as needed.
QUALIFICATION and EDUCATION:
- Associates or Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field. Work equivalent experience in quality will be considered in lieu of college degree.
- Strong data collection experience.
- Proven track record of driving continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the automotive and/or machining strongly preferred.
- Previous audit experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Minitab Software or other SPC software.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- CMM and Trace machine programming experience preferred.
- Familiar with core tool requirements: PPAP, Gage R&R/MSA, Control Plans, APQP
SCOPE of AUTHORITY:
Ø No direct reports and no budgetary responsibility
