POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the acquisition of IT products and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, compliance with organizational policies and requirements set by the corporate procurement team. This role will evaluate supplier pricing and offerings, review contracts, terms, service level agreements, and track procurement data. This position will work closely with various departments to understand business needs, plan procurement activities, manage vendor relationships, and oversee the entire procurement lifecycle from sourcing to contract management. Additionally, this role will facilitate the planning and coordination of equipment delivery, installations, upgrades, and changes.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Cost Control and Contract Management:
- Monitor and control procurement costs to stay within budget.
- Analyze expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with IT vendors, managing renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Sourcing, Vendor Management, and Supplier Performance:
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with potential IT vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate terms and conditions to secure the best value.
- Conduct vendor due diligence and regular performance evaluations to ensure reliability, compliance, and high-quality standards.
- Procurement Planning and Purchase Order Management:
- Collaboratively implement and adhere to the corporate purchasing department's best practices, standards, and processes
- Manage the entire procurement lifecycle from requisition to payment.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast IT needs and plan procurement activities.
- Process and manage purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
- Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Lifecycle Management:
- Ensure all procured IT products and services meet quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct audits and inspections to maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of IT assets from acquisition to disposal, including asset tracking, maintenance, and retirement.
- Inventory and Supplier Risk Management:
- Oversee IT inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking and control.
- Implement efficient inventory management practices to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
- Identify and assess risks associated with IT suppliers, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Information Technology, or equivalent combination education / experience required.
- 2+ years of proven experience in IT procurement, sourcing, and vendor management required.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Travel
- Occasional travel up to 25% may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is subject to sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
