Description:The Psychiatric NP will assess patient mental health status through interview to formulate a diagnosis, develop a plan of care and treatment, provide medication management and evaluate follow up strategies according to age-specific plans of care. The Psych NP will also provide health education, supportive counseling and clinical outreach within the community while working within an interdisciplinary team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide psychiatric evaluation and follow-up exams, diagnosing mental health disorders and provide medication treatment for mental health and substance abuse disorders
- Collaborate with Psychiatrist and Nurse Manager on a regular basis to ensure enhanced delivery of care
- Prescribe controlled and non-controlled medications per MA state law
- Provide health maintenance and education
- Consult and provide education to primary care providers on pediatric mental health diagnoses and treatments
- Provide timely documentation for all clinical assessments, individual sessions, medication adjustments and crisis interventions
- Utilizing proper billing codes for diagnoses and treatments
- Maintain pediatric-centered continuing education and training
- Adhere to the general policies and procedures as outlined by the practice
Hours will be:
Mondays - 10am-7pm
Wednesdays - 9-5
Thursdays - 9-5

- Ability to work independently as well as function as part of the care team
- Ability to handle sensitive medical information/HIPAA compliance
- Working knowledge of EMR, Microsoft office and email
- Ability to work onsite and accommodate virtual visits
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing:
Master's degree in nursing; completion of a state acceptable Nurse Practitioner's program; a minimum of one year’s experience is desirable. National certification in specialty is preferred.
Hold a valid DEA
Minimum 1 year of psychiatric experience
