Job Description
Follows general procedures in performing laboratory tasks, and inspections of packaged products and materials.
Performs sensory, physical, analytical, chemical, and microbiological tests on finished products, received materials, and any other requested samples.
Records test data and maintain laboratory workflow following the product evaluation procedure and in TraceGains.
Reports nonconformance immediately in Microsoft Teams, in-person, or TraceGains.
Performs and documents daily pre/post-operational and changeover checks to ensure that no materials are placed in production equipment and or produced prior to a preop check.
Performs and documents required inspection for manufacturing equipment, storage equipment, sanitation cleaning, and any other requested operational-related inspections.
Follows proper GMPs, food safety, and lab safety.
Conducts administrative work relating to QA such as hold process, destruction certification, CoA writing, 3rdparty lab sampling, environmental monitoring, SQF, and HACCP documentation/filing.
Assist with other quality and operational projects as needed as directed by the Quality Manager.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The employee works indoors in both office and production environments. There is moderate noise in the work environment.
Requirements:
4-year Bachelor’s degree in a science field or related experience.
Good communication skills. Fluency in spoken and written English.
Mathematical skills in algebra/statistics.
Computer skills and data processing skills. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft application skills.
Strong multi-tasking skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work flexible hours/rotating hours including second shift when needed.
Experience in training and leading others.
2-4 years of experience in the food safety and quality assurance field, laboratory, or production facility quality control.
1 year of experience in an auditing or inspecting against organizational standards role. Auditor Certification is preferred.
