Function: To provide ABA services to adults diagnosed with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Services focus on decreasing dangerous & maladaptive behaviors while assisting clients in acquiring, retaining, & improving self-help, communication & adaptive skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provides in-home(group home) services for the authorized number of hours per week based on each referral;
- Conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA);
- Develops Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and update plans every 6 months;
- Provides supervision and training on BIP implementation to Behavior Technicians;
- Provides training in ABA methods and other support services to families and staff;
- Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team to promote consistent intervention and outcomes;
- Implements parent training to caregivers and other family members on behavioral interventions and programming;
- Submits documentation such as FBA, BIP and progress notes on Care Logic.
- Completes all DHS required trainings and continues to improve skills through the College of Direct Support, the Elizabeth M. Boggs Center and other training opportunities.
- Provides feedback and training as needed; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Special Education and/or related field preferred.
- Certified BCBA by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
- Minimum one year experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities.
- Minimum one year of experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and writing Behavior Intervention Plans;
- Have a flexible schedule (3pm - 9pm preferred) and be willing to travel to the assigned homes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
- Must be CPR/FA certified (training also offered by CAFS)
- Must be certified in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) interventions. This training is also offered by CAFS
