Our past performance has enabled us to grow our operations. As such, we are seeking to hire talented and experienced Construction Quality Managers to join our team.
Position Overview:
As a Construction Quality Manager at CQM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our construction projects. You will work closely with general contractors and regulatory agencies, particularly the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), to uphold the highest standards of construction quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC)
procedures for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to establish quality standards
and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor compliance with project plans, specifications,
and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner, implementing corrective actions
as necessary.
- Coordinate with the FHWA and other regulatory agencies to ensure adherence to federal
guidelines and standards.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to quality assurance activities, including reports,
records, and non-conformance reports.
Qualifications:
Below are typical requirements found in specifications of projects that encompass what a quality control manager is.
(a) One year of experience managing Quality Control on highway construction projects, and (b) One of the following:
(1) Two years’ experience as a construction project manager or superintendent on highway construction projects;
(2) Three years’ experience as a project engineer, resident engineer, foreman, construction inspector, or equivalent on highway construction projects; or
(3) National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III certification or equivalent in highway construction or highway material.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field. (Not required but highly valued.)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction quality management, preferably in highway
and infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with FHWA regulations and procedures is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Certified Quality
Auditor (CQA) are a plus.
