Summary
Award is seeking a superintendent for projects across Washington State. The right candidate will be influential in both the type and size of work we pursue. We are a public works contractor concentrating in pump stations and water/wastewater treatment plants. Responsibilities
- Ensure project materials and workmanship comply with project plans and specifications
- Direct, supervise, and coordinate all construction activities
- Work with project manager to create and update the project schedule
- Supervise and coordinate all staff and subcontractors assigned to the project
- Be our representative in the field. Physically work side by side with field crew as required. The proper candidate is slated to grow into less of a working superintendent and more of a supervisor, with less physical work.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with project inspectors, owners’ representatives and engineers
- Implement Award’s Accident Prevention Program and develop and implement site specific safety plans
- Anticipate and resolve project issues and hurdles
- Generate daily project reports and document the work
- Ensure project tasks are performed safely
Qualifications
- 8+ years experience in public works construction
- Experience leading a crew e.g. pipe layer, site foreman, superintendent
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
- Proven history of being able to set grade
- Must pass drug test
