Behavior Technician
Working one on one with children with an Austism Diagnosis.
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Your work will involve implementing behavioral therapy techniques and strategies under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Duties:
- Work closely with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities, implementing behavior plans developed by the BCBA
- Conduct patient assessments to gather information on behavior patterns and needs
- Assist in the diagnostic evaluation process, including collecting data and observations
- Provide one-on-one behavioral therapy sessions to clients, following prescribed treatment plans
- Document and maintain accurate records of client progress, including behavioral data and session notes
- Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to develop and modify treatment plans as needed
- Implement behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and apply it appropriately in documentation
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in all interactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, or related field preferred
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and principles is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to follow directions accurately and implement treatment plans consistently
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and handle sensitive information with discretion
